3rd Grade Explorers (Semester 1)
The Explorers Program runs during the 1st Semester of school. Participation in the Explorers Program does not mean that the student has been, or will be, identified for future AIG services. During the 2nd Semester of school students who have met the criteria for AIG identification will begin receiving AIG classes one time a week for 45 minutes.
This year the Explorers Program consists of the AIG teacher pushing into all 3rd grade classrooms to complete CogAT Practice lessons along with Socratic Seminars. Each tracks schedule vary. Both the classroom teacher and the AIG teacher are present during these lessons and students are evaluated based upon their performance and presentation.

Other Responsibilities and Duties:
Required AIG Compliance including: Testing & Evaluations; DEP's; DCP's; updating compliance forms and AIG folders; prepare for SBCGE committee meetings; maintain school plan; verification of rosters; corrections and updates; IDEP's; individual assessments as needed; curriculum development to support classroom teachers; preparation for Explorers; pull and review materials for classroom teachers, for AIG classes and for Single Subject Acceleration. Attend Countywide AIG meetings along with Regional AIG meetings.
Consult and collaborate with K-2 teachers, through the Nurturing Program, about high-performing students, assist with materials and media materials for differentiation, intervene and document evidence for SBCGE. Meet with enrichments groups in K-2 in the areas of Math and Reading (as needed).
Member of School Improvement & Leadership Teams as well as a teacher mentor and a peer observer for the school who is in charge of completing observations and guidance for beginning teachers. Single Subject Acceleration Liaison for the school who oversees all current SSA students, helps with scheduling SSA classes, monitors online SSA students, as well as administers SSA testing and completing all paperwork during the nomination and testing windows. IOS Support Contact for Jones Dairy which entails making sure all ipads and apps are updated and functioning properly, K-2 Tech Contact & Support, JDE's School Grant Coordinator, & JDE's Intervention Case Manager.
